Charlie Brooker

So if you all aren’t familiar with Charlie Brooker, you should be.  He is a media commentator from the UK, and he’s had two successful TV series for the BBC, Screenwipe and Newswipe.  A lot of his clips are short and witty, and wind up being good, brief demonstrations of the functioning of the media production industry.

This clip is Charlie Brooker discussing the news-media framing of mass murderers – the crazed gunman scenario.  I find it a useful addendum to discussions about the screen’s ability to shape viewer identification with a character.
