Hitchcock on the Kuleshov Effect

Here’s a short clip in which Hitchcock makes a simple demonstration of the Kulshov effect (how the perceived meaning of a shot is determined by its context in a series of shots).  My students found this demonstration very clear and funny.  It also opens a good entry point for getting into critical discussions about the male gaze and film.
