Logorama

Here’s a link to an academy-award winning animated short Logorama.  This video was created by the French animation H5, François Alaux, Hervé de Crécy + Ludovic Houplain.  It’s a good example of culture jamming and art that attempts to subvert the power of branding.  The video highlights the saturation of branding in our environment by portraying  it at an even more ridiculous intensity while undermining any wholesome association of branded icons by making them into characters of a violent storyline.

I use this for a module called ‘Interpreting Visual Culture’. Everytime I watch it again I notice some new subtle element. Absolutely fantastic and really goes down well with students. I teach international students at Nottingham Trent University (NTIC)
